During mediation, the parties decide the solution instead of a judge, jury or attorney who does not understand your situation. The mediator acts as a neutral party who facilitates the problem solving process between the parties.

YOU KEEP THE PROCESS CONFIDENTIAL

Your discussions during the mediation process are confidential, so you are free to discuss options knowing your conversations cannot be repeated in court.

YOU CONTROL THE SCHEDULE

The parties control the scheduling of the mediation sessions. We can meet days, evenings or weekends. We usually meet in 2 hour sessions at my Leesburg Office or at another office location convenient to you. Although each case is different, mediation usually will take between 2-5 sessions, but it can be longer or shorter depending on the number of issues and degree of conflict between the parties.

YOU SAVE MONEY COMPARED TO TYPICAL LITIGATION COSTS

No retainer fees are required. Hourly fees for mediation are much less than legal fees making mediation a cost effective way for couples to obtain a divorce.
